Rosetta
An Astro blog theme that translates itself.
Rosetta is an Astro blog theme with multilingual publishing built in. Write in English, declare your target languages in a config file, and every build translates new or changed posts, including front matter, UI strings, and tags, while leaving URLs, code blocks, and image paths alone.
How it works
- Translates only what changed A SHA-256 manifest tracks each post, so builds translate only new or edited content and the cost per build stays small.
- Consistent translations A build-time Node script calls the Claude API, using Sonnet at a low temperature for consistency.
- Never blocks a build Without an API key, the script stubs the translations and the build still succeeds.
- An editor included A lightweight web editor ships with the theme for drafting posts and uploading images without touching the filesystem.
- Rich posts MDX support for Vega-Lite charts, Mermaid diagrams, and KaTeX math.
